Are you covered or are you trying to do it alone?

Where are you as far as this picture is concerned?

Don’t try to go it alone. Get under the wings of God and let Him protect you from the evils of Satan. It is the only place that you will be able to find peace, joy, and contentment.

Don’t believe the lie that you will be happier doing your own thing, caring for nobody but yourself, and living your life only for material things.

There is a void in each of us that only God can fill. Let Him fill it and see how much your life will change for the better.

  1. Please tell me, as no one has seen God, how do you know that he has wings?

If Satan is evil, then does that mean that all bad/evil things (like the natural disasters) are also created by Satan? And if so, how come God fails to protect those (under his wing) from such disasters? (Recent floods in Iowa and the typhoons in the far east)

    Please explain! Thanks.

  2. L,

I have not seen God, so I don’t know if the verses above are talking about literal or figurative wings. Somehow I think that the Psalmist might have used something that we could picture in our minds and relate to, but nevertheless I truly believe every verse of the Bible.

It gives me much comfort to know that God is my shield and strength against evil.

According to II Corinthians 4: 3-4, the god of this world right now is Satan. That is the reason that he wanted Adam and Eve to fall so badly in the Garden of Eden. He wanted the dominion over the earth that God had given to them.

When Jesus was sent into the wilderness to be tempted for 40 days, one of the temptations was that Satan promised him all the kingdoms of the world if he would bow down and worship him. Luke 4: 6 says, “And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.”

Jesus didn’t argue with him, he just used a Bible verse and told him to leave him alone.

I certainly don’t know how to explain all the terrible disasters that have happened, because I cannot even come close to comprehending how God works and why He chooses to do things the way He does.

I read a quote that says, “If your God is big enough for you to understand, then He’s not much of a God.”

No, I don’t understand everything that is happening right now, but I know that ultimately my God is big enough to have it all under control and that if I follow Him “His faithfulness will be my shield and protector.”
