Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance.
– George Bernard Shaw–
Unfortunately I was so steeped in the religion of “good works” that it took me several years to fully understand what God was trying to teach me.
I felt such guilt at saying NO to people that many times I would say YES, but feel miserable the whole time I was trying to do what they had asked me to do.I finally got to the point that I was so miserable I had to either change or stay in my misery. It’s amazing the things that God uses to try to teach you something important.
I was listening to a tape series about how to hear the Holy Spirit when He speaks; all of a sudden a huge, gigantic flash of light (not a physical one, but a mental understanding) made things crystal clear. I received so much truth at that moment that I have never been the same again. God’s Gift of the Holy Spirit being active in my life has totally changed how I live each day.
I was driving while listening to the teaching, so I pulled over and actually wrote down the verses he gave as references to look them up later. This seemed like such a new concept that I could not see how I had missed this awesome truth for so many years. I found that I had read all the verses, but their understanding had totally eluded me.
It is an awesome thing when you truly realize that the God of the Universe loved you so much that He sent His Only Son to die on a cruel cross, be raised again victoriously from the grave, and then ascend to the Father as your Intercessor so that you can have a direct line to pray to God for yourself.
As an even greater gift, when Jesus left to be our Intercessor, the Holy Spirit came to dwell in every Christian so that we never have to be alone again in making a decision that might wreak havoc in our lives.
Satan will always desire to fill your thinking with false knowledge and he always wants you to be ignorant of the truth when it comes to making major decisions. He can make something seem like an awesome opportunity that is too good to pass up, and make you feel that if you don’t act NOW you will never get the opportunity again.
Satan wants you to act so quickly that you don’t take the time to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
I have discovered that there is a huge difference in having VERY GOOD and having GOD’S BEST. Satan knows that when you wait for the latter, you will be able to walk in God’s power and it will be possible for you to not only do great damage to his kingdom but be used in an awesome way for God’s Glory.
Satan will do anything he possibly can to keep you from getting God’s Best for your life.
You do not have to accept life on Satan’s terms – you can live a life of victory in your everyday walk with God. The Holy Spirit wants to become so indispensable in your life that you don’t even want to think about making a decision without His help.
I don’t know where you are in your walk with God, but I do know that if you have asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, you have the wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit living inside you waiting for you to let Him take over the leadership of your life.
The question is – Will you let the Holy Spirit lead?
Learn to hear and obey the Holy Spirit as He gives you guidance in your everyday walk with God. He will never lead you into a trap or tell you to do something that will lead you astray.
Satan desires to steal, kill, and destroy; God desires for you to have an awesome and abundant life in Him. Ultimately, though, the choice is yours!
