God wants every Christian to live in such a way that others see His Glory revealed through their life. He didn’t create us to make things happen of our own accord, but to let Him do His Work through us.

In order to do that you have to give up your own plans and do what God is telling you to do, trusting that He will always have your best interest at heart. In my case, I have found that everything I have given up has been replaced by something much better than I ever thought about in the first place. In the beginning I might have thought I was taking a step backwards, but when I was able to look back I could see God’s hand in everything.

Seek God with all your heart and you will certainly find Him.

We never find Adam afraid of God, nor of any manifestation of Deity while he was in Paradise an obedient creature, but no sooner had he touched the fatal fruit than he found that he was naked, and hid himself. When he heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, Adam was afraid and hid himself from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.

Sin makes miserable cowards of us all. See the man who once could hold delightful converse with his Maker, now dreading to hear his Maker’s voice and skulking in the grove like a felon, who knows his guilt, and is afraid to meet the officers of justice. Beloved, in order to remove this dread nightmare of slavish fear from the breast of humanity, where its horrible influence represses all the noblest aspirations of the soul, our Lord Jesus Christ came in the flesh.

He was just a little boy,
On a week’s first day.
Wandering home from Bible school,
And dawdling on the way.

He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
He even found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
And blew out all the ‘filler.’

A bird’s nest in a tree overhead,
So wisely placed up so high.
Was just another wonder,
That caught his eager eye.

A neighbor watched his zig zag course,
And hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he’d been that day
And what was going on.

‘I’ve been to Bible School,’
He said and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
‘I’ve learned a lot about God.’

‘M’m very fine way,’ the neighbor said,
‘for a boy to spend his time.’
‘If you’ll tell me where God is,
I’ll give you a brand new dime.’

Quick as a flash the answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
‘I’ll give you a dollar, Mister,
If you can tell me where God ain’t.’

When I look at a picture like this, it reminds me of what a great and awesome God we have who created everything in the world for His Glory and our benefit.

Many times we are so busy that we miss out on the simple things in life. God’s beauty is there for us to see, but we ignore it and focus on things that are less desirable. In the world in which we live today, you must make it a point to focus on the good things; otherwise all the bad things will consume your thinking and affect you negatively.

Just having a positive outlook can drastically improve your outlook on life and make you much less stressful. And that is always a good thing!!!

After a concert, Peter Stumf, the principal cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, visited a frend’s house. He inadvertently left his cello in it’s case outside on the friend’s doorstep while he chatted with his friend inside.

A young man passing by on his bike saw the cello case outside the house. When he saw that there was nobody around, be quickly grabbed it and took off with it. When he was some distance away, he stopped to examine the contents of the case.

When he saw that it was a musical instrument he was so disappointed that he tossed it into a nearby garbage dumpster.

This young cyclist had no idea that this musical instrument, which is a cello is an extremely rare Stradivarius cello, and is valued at…. 3.5 million dollars!!!

3.5 Million and he had just thrown it away, where it sat amongst all the other heaps of rubbish.

When Peter Stumf found out that his priceless Stradivarius cello was lost, he was totally devastated.

Stradivarius instruments are extremely rare and priceless. They belong to the stringed instruments made by the Stradivari family in the 17th century. The best instruments were made by Master Craftman Antonio Stradivari between 1698-1720.

Back to our lost cello… a young woman passing by the garbage dump picked up Peter Stumf’s cello and took it home. she of course had no clue as to it’s value. She turned it around, examined it and thought of creative ways to use the cello.

She then struck on what to her was a brilliant idea… aha! she thought, she could bring it to her carpenter boyfriend and get him to cut it open, put tiny shelves in it, add some hinges so that it could open and close and use it as a CD Rack!!!

Thank God she discussed this with her friend who asked to see the cello. Following her instincts, her friend examined the cello closely and to their utter shock discovered it to be a priceless Stradivarius!

The friend recalled reading about this lost cello and … happily this 3.5 million dollar cello was reunited with its owner.

I would like all of you to think into this story with me.
When we don’t know the value of something, we could very well treat it as mere rubbish. Imagine treating a 3.5 million dollar cello as rubbish because WE DON’T KNOW.

What if we don’t know OUR OWN VALUE? What if we were all 3.5mllion dollar Stradivarius cellos and WE DID NOT KNOW IT?

We could very well throw ourselves away in a rubbish heap! Or we could very well end up as a cheap CD Rack

The problem of not knowing our own value means we don’t value ourselves. We don’t value ourselves enough to do everything we can to bring out the very best in ourselves.

To bring out the most beautiful music from our very hearts, our minds and our souls… because WE ARE ALL THAT 3.5 million dollar cello!

Each of us have to know that we are all God’s priceless creations.

And… you and I have within ourselves songs that need to be sung.

My friends, know yourselves, know your worth, know your value… so that we can all fill this world with the most exquisite melodies of lives fulfilled, of lives that have reached their full potential.

These photos are from NASA/ESA and The Hubble Heritage Team. They were made by the Hubble Telescope.

This is a star cluster with stars of three age groups. There are approximately 10,000 stars here and this cluster is 13,300 light years away from earth.

This is Bodes Galaxy. It is 11.6 million light years away from earth, and it is 70,000 light years across its whole galaxy.

We all know that Saturn is the closest to earth of the three photos. It is 67 light minutes away, and is 9.5 times wider than earth.

I feel overwhelmed as I look at these photos. God is much deeper and more sovereign than we could ever imagine. The whole universe is delicately balanced in his hands.

So if  He has “the whole world in His hands” as the children song says, can’t you trust Him to handle your problems?

Think about His Majesty and Awesomeness the next time you look up at the night sky!

As I look at this magnificent picture, I think of an awesome God that none of us can really comprehend. He set all the planets in perfect alignment to rotate around the sun. Everything works flawlessly in the delicate balance that God ordained.

The solar system is so vast that we are just now discovering new galaxies and stars that we never knew existed before. How can we look at the magnificent sky at night and not believe in the God who is so powerful to make all this? His awesomeness is beyond our comprehension.

Ask God to reveal Himself to you and show you who He is. He can change your life forever.

What a magnificent God we have!

1. God made our magnificent sun (photos)!

The planet Neptune was finally discovered on September 23, 1846. Galileo saw it, but thought it was just a star that happened to be next to Jupiter, so he blew it off. Over the course of 200 more years many other astronomers saw it too, but they weren’t paying attention either and didn’t figure out it was a planet.

Finally Johann Galle got it right, but only with the help of a good math friend named Urbain. Johann got a letter telling him that according to Urbain’s calculations, there should be a planet at the exact coordinates of Neptune. He told him to check it out and see if he was correct.

Johann looked through his telescope and WHAMO! there was Neptune right where his friend had predicted.

The moral? Henry David Thoreau said it best: “In the long run, men only hit what they aim at.”

If you look at things with only human eyes, you won’t know how to aim at anything other than what you can see. Only God can see the whole picture and knows what the future holds. Don’t be afraid to walk in places you have never been as long as He is your tour guide leading the way.

Make sure you hit the target that God has set forth for you and don’t aim for anything less.

Man Challenges God

(Another Mikey’s Funnies story)

One day a group of scientists got together and decided that man had come a long way and no longer needed God. So they picked one scientist to go and tell Him that they were done with Him.

The scientist walked up to God and said, “God, we’ve decided that we no longer need you. We’re to the point that we can clone people and do many miraculous things, so why don’t you just go on and get lost.”

God listened very patiently and kindly to the man. After the scientist was done talking, God said, “Very well, how about this? Let’s say we have a man-making contest.”

To which the scientist replied, “Okay, great!”

But God added, “Now, we’re going to do this just like I did back in the old days with Adam.”

The scientist said, “Sure, no problem” and bent down and grabbed himself a handful of dirt.

God looked at him and said, “No, no, no. You go get your own dirt!”
