Does Your Life Show Evidence Of The Words Of Francis of Assisi?

This sign says one thing but shows a completely opposite picture.

It is a dismal reminder to me of all the times that I have said I was a Christian but haven’t acted like one. I’m not talking about doing things that are unlawful or cruel, but just times when I should have acted with more love and more compassion toward others. I have put myself and my needs first and often haven’t been open to others around me who are hurting.

Does a random person that I meet on the street see Jesus in me or at least see that there is something different about me than they are used to seeing? What about you?

What do the people I am around on a daily basis think about my life? Do they see God continually moving and working in me and bring me closer to Him so that He can use me to carry forth His Work?

Does my life always bear out the words of Frances of Assisi?

“Preach the gospel at all times; if necessary use words.”

I don’t know about you, but I want God to be able to use me wherever I am and in whatever capacity He chooses. I want my heart and inner life to match up with what I portray on the outside.

When we as Christians can get to this point, we will be able to make an awesome impact for the Kingdom of God. Pride will be destroyed as we put Him first, others second, and ourselves last.

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you areas in your life where you need change. I can pretty much tell you it won’t be easy, but it definitely will be worth it in the long run. After God has gotten all the junk out, you will be a clean and usable vessel who can make a dynamic impact for good on others around you.
