Romans 1: 17
The righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith.
I don’t know how God reveals things to you, but I can’t remember a single time where has He revealed to me every detail of how something will happen in the future. I would love to be able to write down His instructions and follow them exactly. In my way of thinking that would eliminate mistakes on my part, because I am pretty good at following directions.
But I have to admit that if I had the instructions at the beginning, I would probably fall into the trap of looking at God more as a travel guide than the God of the Universe who wants to have a personal relationship with me each day. I’m afraid I would get to the point that I would follow God’s instructions to the letter, but would forget the awesomeness of the God who gave them.
He wants me to learn to trust Him so much that I am absolutely sure He will always desire the very best for my life. The closer I get to Him, the easier that becomes.
Think of the word picture that life is like a staircase, with God revealing one step at a time. When you have climbed each step and are secure on it God will show you where to go for the next step. Sometimes God might allow you to skip a few steps at once, but not too many that you will lose your dependence on Him to continue to guide you in the right direction.
He is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipotent (unlimited power) and omnipresent (being present everywhere), so He can see exactly where He wants you to be at any given time. When you pass one test, he then sends another one to increase your faith and help you to learn to become more and more dependent on him. He wants you to walk in power – His Power – and anointing to change the world around you.
When you think you have come to the end of your rope and can’t go any further, God says, “Maybe now I can finally do something with this life that I have wanted to do for many years.”
God can’t work supernaturally in your life if you are intent on doing everything in your own power and with your own resources. Give up doing things on your own and try faith to faith living. I can promise you won’t feel that life is boring and mundane any longer.
