The Difference In Sinward And Godward

godward-sinward

He who looks sinward has his back to God. He who looks Godward has his back to sin.

Charles Spurgeon

I love this statement because this makes it absolutely clear that you must choose a direction in which to go, and the directions above are 180 degree differences from each other.

Repent means to turn around and go in the opposite direction. It is like you are walking north, suddenly run into a blockade, and you turn around and start walking south. You are not walking E or W or any other variation of E or W; you are walking S, the total opposite direction.

It is impossible to follow God completely and dabble in sin at the same time. Jesus gave the ultimate sacrifice – His Life – for you and He wants you to give Him first place in everything you do each day.

If you rely on magazines and television to give you values, they will make you feel that what YOU want is the most important thing. This is totally opposite to the way that God wants you to live.

He wants you to ask the Holy Spirit for direction, then let Him do the leading and you do the following.

It is truly amazing that you could ever feel fulfilled living this kind of life. Most of us hate giving up control because it feels as if we are taking steps backward instead of going forward. It is totally a supernatural thing that you could give up control to God and find great satisfaction in doing so. It  is the only way to truly live life to the fullest and you will see God be able to use you in supernatural ways that you have never expected.

Take the ultimate step forward to follow Gods leading and see where He takes you. You might be unsure where you are going, but you will never be bored!
