The Requirement For Truly Loving God

John 14: 21

He that has my commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves me: and he that loves me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him and will manifest myself to him.

John 14: 23

If a man loves me he will keep my Word.

In these verses God gives the definition of a person who truly loves Him – one who places great importance on reading the Bible and being obedient to do and live what it says.

God tells me what I should do and then He tells me what He will do AFTER I have been obedient and followed His directions.

He wants me to learn His Character, which basically means that He will always do what He has promised. He will always fulfill His Word, so when I make it my business to learn and walk in the truth He then knows He can trust me enough to reveal deeper spiritual things to me that I have not seen before.

Trusting in someone you can’t physically see is not easy at first. That is why you must read the Bible and get to know the Character of God. Once you start to see His Character, you will have no doubts that He will always have your best interest in mind for everything He tells you to do.

1718 – emphanizo – means to manifest openly

to exhibit (in person) or disclose (by words):  appear, declare (plainly, inform, (will) manifest, shew, signify

So when You take God at His Word and live in obedience to it, He will then be free to reveal Himself to you in ways you can never imagine. Don’t miss out on the awesomeness of God just because you are afraid to take a step in the unknown. Find out what God wants you to do, trust Him to help you do it, and let Him use you in whatever way He chooses.

About Cathy Deaton

My name is Cathy Deaton, Owner of Fan the Flame Ministries. God has radically changed my life, and He has shown me that I am to share the awesome things I am learning with the Millennial Generation (1981 – 1996), but I love connecting with Christians of all ages.  I have found that the Holy Spirit is an awesome teacher when I listen to, obey, and apply what He teaches to my life. You truly can make a difference for God in an uncertain world.
